It is week 143 of Jenny Matlock's fun and challenging writing meme, Saturday Centus, from her blog, "off on my tangent." This week Jenny has provided a photo from which to inspire our 100-word maximum stories and poems. It's been awhile but I thought I would give it a go this week and see what happened. My effort this week is entitled:
Was It Something I Said?
I gave her a quick hug. “You know you don’t smell as bad as I thought you would?"
“WHAT?"
“I mean you don’t sweat much for a woman your size.”
“WHAT!!!???”
She glanced at the large ripe tomato at her side.
“You want to throw that at me, don’t you?”
“No, I was thinking I could make you salsa with it.”
"Can you make it now?" I asked, turning back toward the house.
That’s when it struck me in the head.
What women want: To be loved, to be listened to, to be desired, to be respected, to be needed, to be trusted, and sometimes, just to be held.
What men want: Tickets to the World Series.
